So Much Respect for Pro Athletes

Today is the Ironman World Championship 2009 race at Kona, Hawaii. I am a recent convert and had great interest or should I say obsessed on triathletes and what they do. What I meant was, I had so much respect for them, they are very disciplined in their training to achieved what they have become. You don't become an athlete overnight, it requires perseverance, discipline, self control, giving up things that you like to do, etc. Same as our spiritual growth, it requires the same endurance & training.

I am glued to IronMan website live stream from 6am-10am.

As some of you may not know, Ironman World Championship in Kona is the holy grail of all IronMan competition. The race started in Hawaii in the 70's, consisting of a 2.4 miles (3.86 km) swim, a 112 miles (180.25 km) bike and a marathon (26 miles 385 yards, 42.195 km) run, raced in that order and without a break. Check out the more detailed info on Ironman

Today's winner are

Craig Alexander -1st place overall-Man, from Australia

Chrissie Wellington - 1st place overall Women from Great Britain

My favorite, Terenzo Bozzone from New Zealand placed 11th overall.
