Signal No. 3

As I am writing this, it's 5.30am and was awaken by the loud gushing wind outside my home. Manila is currently experiencing the eye of the storm.

I swear I'm not kidding but my heart is pounding and called Jesus in my heart. Please have mercy to our country.

I can't go back to sleep, I'm on the watch like a mother hen while my kids are clueless of what's happening.

Take care everyone.

L.O.V.E.

DH and I watch the worldwide screening today of "This Is It". My verdict?

AWESOME!!

Anyone who is a diehard fan should watch it. It was like watching his concert but at the fraction of its price. I will not tell more because it might spoil the surprise. Go see it for yourself.

Michael Jackson, a classic, an icon. Your music will live forever.

Will You Tri?

Speedo National Age Group Final Leg. October 18, 2009 at Ayala Alabang, Swim-Bike-Run: Conquered!

Adidas King Of The Road October 25, 2009 10KM run: Conquered!

My friends asked me why I do what I do...  running, biking and swimming. What I tell them, my story and sort of a testimony on how, by the grace of God, He can change a couch potato like me into a disciplined athlete. I'm still a progressing beginner :)

Just over a year ago, I had my annual blood test and found my cholesterol is at a threatening level! People were surprised because I am never overweight. As a matter of fact, I've always been eating properly and conscious of my weight and body. My Pediatric Doctor and dear friend Dr. JTS suggests that I start exercising and do sports instead of taking medicine and be dependent for life.. We concluded that it's in the genes of my family to have high 'bad' cholesterol, diabetes, cancer etc..

Just also last year cousins in law CC, EC and DH and friends have been joining Sunday Run Races usually at the Fort or McKinley. I was dragged to join the 3km. And since then I did not stop running. This year I vowed to be a regular swimmer and do spinning at the gym for cross training along running. I also had my cholesterol check and it was down to 190. Still on the high side but so glad its not in the "dangerous" level anymore!

Have you had your health checked lately? There are a lot of exercises that you can start working on. Health is wealth!

Saved to Serve

My discipleship group MG, HC, HR, KT, GT, TL ,CC and myself went to Ultra few days ago. Actually this is our 2nd time to visit the children evacuees, their houses in Pasig, Rizal were washed away by Ondoy.

The 1st time we went, we reached out to 100 children, 7 years old and above. This time we reached out to 50 kids. We shared the Gospel using the wordless book and prayed with each of them. The book looked something like this.. Made with love by dear friend TL.

This is one of the most efficient way for sharing the Good News of Salvation to the children.. Of course we shared in Tagalog.

We also gave them gospel beads, to remind them of the five colors and what it symbolized. Again, made by love from TL and her kids.

We gave them school bags filled with pad paper, crayons, ball pen, cookies, juices, t-shirt etc. We were re-packing on site.

When we got there, this is what we saw. Their day care center for the children is a small park outside the Ultra stadium. Public school teachers go there to resume their classes. They were seated only in a banig and doing their arts and crafts.

After a few minutes they were dismissed by their teachers and we took over, we started sharing the wordless book.. by group.

Wrapped up by teaching them how to sing kids' praise and worship songs.

We were also told that it was their last day in Ultra and the familess are being sent home or go back to their provinces.

What a privilege to serve my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

Wrong Choice

Yesterday afternoon I got a text from cousin in law BS and it reads "Don't go to Greenbelt 5, there's a shoot out and 1 dead"

Apparently its all over the news. And this is the CCTV footage of what happened inside the Rolex shop.

For the latest Philippine news stories and videos, visit GMANews.TV

Read the detailed story here.

I will not try to understand what's going on in the mind of these bandits but..
Can millions of Pesos worth of watches compensate for a lost of life? can that dead suspect be their own flesh and blood, or even a friend? How did they get those uniforms? And how daring for them to rob a store on a Sunday lunch time! What are they thinking..

We are free to choose the choices/decisions that we make, but we are not free from the consequences of those choices/decisions..

Let's be wise. Choose to do what is right.

Birth Pangs

My cousin in law WS told me to read Joel Rosenberg's blog, he is the author of the book "Epicenter". It gives me goosebumps. I recommend that you read his blog.

One of his entry is titled "The Earth Is Groaning". And he pulled all the major headlines in Asia together and paralleled with the Bible verse below.

In the last days….

there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven….There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” (Luke 21:11,25,26)

“For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.”
(Romans 8:22, KJV)

And today, Typhoon "Lupit" is moving towards Philippines again.

Let's all do our part, and pray. We are living in the last days...

So Much Respect for Pro Athletes

Today is the Ironman World Championship 2009 race at Kona, Hawaii. I am a recent convert and had great interest or should I say obsessed on triathletes and what they do. What I meant was, I had so much respect for them, they are very disciplined in their training to achieved what they have become. You don't become an athlete overnight, it requires perseverance, discipline, self control, giving up things that you like to do, etc. Same as our spiritual growth, it requires the same endurance & training.

I am glued to IronMan website live stream from 6am-10am.

As some of you may not know, Ironman World Championship in Kona is the holy grail of all IronMan competition. The race started in Hawaii in the 70's, consisting of a 2.4 miles (3.86 km) swim, a 112 miles (180.25 km) bike and a marathon (26 miles 385 yards, 42.195 km) run, raced in that order and without a break. Check out the more detailed info on Ironman

Today's winner are

Craig Alexander -1st place overall-Man, from Australia

Chrissie Wellington - 1st place overall Women from Great Britain

My favorite, Terenzo Bozzone from New Zealand placed 11th overall.

I Became An Accomplice

This is such a delayed post, because I cannot spoil the surprise and post the secret that Mr. ZC and I have been discussing/planning about the ring! But I'm just as happy for Miss TP who got this proposal/engagement ring last August.. I suggested the size & the stone. I designed the setting.

Somewhat Emotional

My Dear Daughter turns 3 last October 3. October 2 they announced that Typhoon Parma (Pepeng) is hitting Philippines, including Metro Manila. Of course, with the trauma that the Filipinos went thru Typhoon "Ondoy", I called my immediate family the plans of celebrating her birthday will be postponed. I was one of the many Filipinos who went to the grocery that day and stocked up my pantry. I even bought my 2nd unit of emergency light. I bought a small chocolate cake and some cute "do-it-yourself" sugar decor, just to let my daughter blow her cake on her actual birthday..

I'm so sure thousands of Filipinos are praying.

October 3 came, and there was no rain..the storm has been diverted to Northern Luzon-Cagayan. Metro Manila was spared. How amazing.. if only ALL Filipinos pray like that everyday.. Our country will be so blessed.

Anyway, here's the simple cake that I prepared first thing in the morning.

She loveees it! She gave me the sweetest smile and said "Thank you Mommy" and my Dear Son was also excited.

It is 8.30am and I kept observing the weather. By 10am I decided to push thru with the gathering. I'm a mother, and I am the one who's excited to see the REAL cake!

Animal Mechanicals Cake by Kitchen Krafts

To those who watch Playhouse Disney channel, you should know this show. They are my kids absolute favorite. I provided Kitchen Krafts with the picture I downloaded over the internet. My kids were ecstatic!

My little girl. She rocks my world with her curly hair; her dimples; sassy character. It was just like yesterday, she was born in Hong Kong via Lamaze and I took care of my new born for 3 weeks without yaya, or help from anyone. It was just me and her.

Don't grow up so fast my little one... Yes, I became emotional.
